Couldn't have picked a better driver!
he needs results in #29 never mind the #33 to be that better driver :-D
It's been two races. Give him a chance lol. 13th at Daytona is respectable, won't even count Mexico... blown tire AND engine trouble. 12th at Homestead last year in Cup. Not too shabby. A top 5 on Saturday will look nice.

Say he's not with RCR... what's your beef with Wimmer?
if he was not with RCR nothing hes a fair middle of the pack runner these days with spikes of good and bad luck but when a driver goes to a top team such as rcr like johnson at hendrick and kahne at everham that driver has to pick up his game so far scott failed to live up to burton but like i said good luck to him when he gets behind the wheel at the weekend

All I can say is, IT'S BEEN TWO RACES! Does he have to win his first race out? Come on, that's highly unrealistic. Look, Scott's not charasmatic. Perhaps that's what you have a problem with against Wimmer. I've met Scott a couple times, and even if I wasn't a fan, he's one of the nicest drivers I've ever met. I'd say only J.J. Yeley was as nice as Scott was.

To be fair, this is the first top-level organization that Wimmer has been a part of. He joined BDR when it was falling off (not that it was ever all that high). In 2002, he made the most of it. While struggling with sponsor issues mid-way through the season and his boss telling him they may not finish the season, Scott goes out and wins four of the final eight races and rises to third in Busch Series points. The following season he struggles a bit (a lot to do with adjusting with a new crew chief and switching to Chevy), but manages to win a race and finish in the top 10 in points.

Moving to Cup... by this time BDR is in the gutter. Tommy Baldwin's long gone. Gone from two teams to one. Lost factory support from Dodge and facing a lawsuit. I'd say that NO driver could have consistently good runs with them. Two years and out. Not good, but he never had much of a chance. Move to 2006, he's with MMM. An even worse team. Single car, struggling. When NASCAR changed, MMM failed to evolve with it and has been paying for it ever since. He stood no chance with that team. Like Ward Burton now, the team is just not very competitive.

Later that year, he posts a 12th place finish for RCR at Homestead. Which, by the way, was better than Jeff Burton's finish in that race (14th).

Now this year. Two races. 13th at Daytona, not bad.... not great, but not bad. Mexico City, had a decent run going, but blew a tire and lost a lap and then developed engine problems (along with the rest of the cars with RCR engines). That's Wimmer's history with RCR... three races. Two top-13 place runs. Really, that's not bad.

So perhaps you want to hold your judgement on Wimmer until Daytona when you actually see what he's capable of. He has the talent, but never had the equipment to show it. Now he has that equipment, let's give him a chance to see what he can do.

as ive said on here in the past and also in this thread which i might add is about a custom car not a driver trevor should of kept his mouth shut but like i said and ill say for the last time while hes at RCR ill give him all the chances he needs or that childress gaves him to take the car to victory lane and ill be the first to congratulate him if he does
should he win first time out no especially with harvick driving a great race in the #21 at daytona should he win this weekend with nether kevin or jeff driving for RCR given the equipment that has taken both harvick and burton to so many victorys in the last year YES end of subject

What you have said in this one post is what I have been telling everyone at TCL for the past year! I couldn't agree anymore!

Not to start anything here, but when should I have kept my mouth shut? Just wondering, cause everyone here knows they will defend their driver in a heartbeat, and when you talked about how horrible Scott would do, thats what I did, defended my driver. I did what any other fan would have done.

if you want to debate the driver in question weather hes any good behind the wheel ( as ive no doubt like most drivers you meet a very nice guy away from the track ) then take it elsewhere as i said if you read what i said this thread is about the custom of the #33 not the driver
