It has been basically the same.
No I have not seen it on pre-order or anything, and that is why I am asking.

Action and RCCA have made it every year, but it is made right along in line with the other cars he has raced. This year it seems to have been skipped over. He ran it before the Dept of Defence car, so I would expect it to be made and released before that one. It was not.

Maybe he will run it again later this year and they will make it then. I was just wondering if anyone had any information I did not.

I think the point he's trying to make is, regardless if it has been identical the last three years, he still wants one. H eis apparantly collecting all of Jeff's cars.

If you have the 06 one.. youre set, because the 07 is pretty much identical.
Don't know Blacker very well do you? An 06 is not an 07. If there is one tiny difference between the two then you can bet Blacker wants it. There are two Jeff Gordon Super Collectors on this site! Blacker and Blazer77. Neither of them misses out on a Gordon diecast! Exspecially the different paint schemes. I don't miss out on Harvick paint schemes and like them I get aggrevated when MA cancels or doesn't produce diecast that have been run on the track! It's bad enough when we have to buy some fantasy car just to keep up with what has been released. I think I speak for any collector that collects a paticular driver. We want the driven paint schemes long before we want some make believe diecast!!

Amen to that. This year Gordon has that little flame on his bumper, a noticable difference.

I know you want the car,and I totally agree that I want every car that my drivers drive but the fact is MA is not going to re-release the car because the flames are minutely different... its just not going to happen. If it was his standard scheme, then they would, but its a special paint scheme.

WC may not relase it <shock> but MA and probably even RCCA will, Gordon cars make money, and that is what they are here for. As the guys here have pointed out fools like me will buy it no matter how small the difference!
The 07 Perf. Alliance car will sell more diecasts than the standard paint scheme of 90% of the other drivers.

Don't forget Silverado guys, he is the same way about those 24 cars.

I guess time will tell. I am taking bets though.)

I do have trouble takeing the "similar scheme" reason seriously.
what else is MA going to release that will sell more copies? The David Stremme Busch car? (no offence Stremme fans))

I have watched these companies release too many IDENTICAL cars over the years, year after year, to believe somebody up top said, "That car looks alot like last years, don't make it." Hell, they make up cars that never even raced (ie the test cars) just to have new cars out there for these drivers.

MA may have had trouble getting rid of some of their stock because it was released in mass quantity in 5 or 6 different versions. There was the WC version (thousands made), the Action clam shell(thousands more), the RCCA club car(more), the RCCA Elite car(and more still), and these are all just the 1:64 versions.

Similar or not, Gordon is a cash cow and they will milk him until he runs dry. He is in the points lead, winning races and all that ... they will make it. <fingers> Hell, I will be surprised if the do NOT make the dirt car he drove in Tony's charity race.

:what:

I was just kidding, but here it is!!

Jeff Gordon Late Model Eldora Dirt Car 1:24th
JEFF GORDON / JG DIE-CAST

Before there was blacktop racing, there was dirt!!!. On June 6th, Jeff Gordon returned to his racing roots and joined several NASCAR Nextel Cup drivers to sling dirt at the famous Eldora Speedway. In the event called "Prelude to a Dream", Jeff drove his Dupont machine to a third place finish. The HMS Team Store is thrilled to offer the die-cast replica of this special car.
This car is available for pre-order only. It is scheduled to arrive in August and will not ship until that time.

I'm with ya Blacker. I was wondering the same thing. When I saw him race the PA car in the Allstar race I was suprised because I hadn't seen or heard anything about the diecast. I've been checking the RCCA site every couple of days because I don't want to miss the '07 version like I did the '06 (though MA finally did send me it 3 months after they said it was out of stock and they wouldn't be getting anymore)

As far as the argument about diecast sales, and all I know is from my experience, in the hunt for JG cars I come across a lot of other drivers and very few Gordons. In the last three years about 25% of my JG Winner's Circle collection has had to come from ebay (or people on this site and WCCollector.com) because I couldn't find them in the store, especially the 1/24ths. I routinely hit the Walmarts/Kmarts/Targets in the Reno, NV and Chico, CA areas and have not come across the '07 Nicorette PitPass or the 1/24th. The '07 Pepsi 1/24th has eluded me, too, even though I see all the other cars from those two waves. I have my sister-in-law checking all the stores in the Stockton, CA. area and in two years the only car she has found for me was the '06 Nicorette Hood, the only Jeff Gordon car she has ever even seen! I live in town barely big enough to have it's own Walmart (and it's not much of a Walmart either) and there must be a few Gordon fans here because I keep missing the JG cars on the pegs, but the other drivers hangout for a while.

The Winston cars seem to be particularly late this year. Harvick's race winning car is not even due until September, and most of the other special paint schemes from that race have not been solicited, or are not due for months.

The car HAS been diffrent every year, even though very similar, and I figure they will make it...but probably not until the end of the year. I figure around October.

I saw the DoD car yesterday but didn't have enough money to buy it yet :( Will get it next time, it's waiting in my box.

You all are forgetting that I have every diffrent Jeff Gordon car (That I am aware of) and many of the variations...(IE, in 98-02 I got the Action version but not the RCCA, but it's the same car just with an opening hood...and I have picked up a few of them, but that's a variation)...some in multiples. I may not limit myself to Jeff but I am a diehard fan of his too...

I used to collect every scheme and every year of Jeff's cars. I eventually moved them, so I just had all of the alternates and the last year for the Rainbow, and the first year for the Flame. I will get the COT for this year as it is different and the first year for it and I will get the regular Flame as it has the little flames on the front, and it is the last car of yesterday if you will. I respect the die hard collectors who get every car every year. If I had the cash and the room, you can bet I sure would!! Hats off to you guys!!! Keep it up!

Well, for whatever it's worth, I count myself as one of those big #24 collectors. With that said, lets take a look at the 07 diecast inventory for Mr Gordon in no particular order.

Out Now:

Standard Dupont
Nicorette
Pepsi
Department of Defense
Standard Dupont COT

One's that we know are coming:

Nicorette COT
Gatorade Dual's Raced Version win
Phoenix Raced Version win
Talladega Raced Version win
Darlington Raced Version win
Eldora Dirt Track Modified
57 Chevy Anniversary(Fugly)

Not announced, but you just know they are coming:

JG 500 Nextel Cup Starts
Pepsi Talladega Fan Design Scheme

There were also 3 Foundation cars released last year(Mighty Mouse, WSOP, Holliday) and none on the horizon this year? Somehow I doubt that. So that's 14 listed above that I'm confident of. Who knows what else is coming.

Same as the rest, if it's got the #24 on it, I'm buying it. But with all due respect to my fellow Gordon collectors, I'm not shedding a tear because the P.A. car will not be made. As Curtis said, the dealers and M/A had a hard time selling the 06 P.A. cars last year, but M/A has none in stock now because they marked them down to the dealers.

Blacker, I'll use my info and take your bet. If they release the 2007 Performance Alliance, I will buy it for you (1/24 Driver Select)and ship it to you completely free of charge!! If M/A was to make this car, they would have taken preorders for it back in April.

Never thought this would take on a life of its own! Not that all the speculation is not welcome, I was just wondering if anyone knew anything definate. Bill put it best (in my opinion.)

My overall take, and it is somewhat solidified as I read through some of this, 1. they have not missed a Gordon car he has ever raced for even 1 lap since his career started, doubt they will start in 07 while he is leading the points. 2. I would dare say the raced versions of Phoenix, Dega, and Dover are more similar to cars they have released THIS year already, why would one similar to LAST years car be discarded? They will even make a COT version of the Dupont and Nicorette 3. They put out ANY and EVERY Gordon car they can even imagine, 75 wins, Milestone cars, Color chrome, Gold plated, Muscle Machine, Foundation etc etc etc ... to think they would not take last years car, make a few small changes, stick it in a new box and push it out is a bit of a stretch. It is easy money, and after all, that is what MA does best!

although I will buy my own, I would be overly shocked if a Pit Stop, Drivers Select and RCCA Elite were not all made. But that is just me.
