This is a week for the record books around my parts.
It started Sunday night/Monday morning at 1:00am with a frantic call from my mother-in-law letting us know that my wife's brother's house was on fire. My mother-in-law lives right next door to them. Everyone made it out ok, but the house burnt all the way down to the ground. It will be ok, he has insurance on it.
I go to work Monday and late afternoon the thunder storms came rolling in southeast TX and our house got zapped by lightning and took out a bunch of my new electronics. I wasn't home but my wife was and it really freaked her out because she was working in her chair and she felt the electricity hit her foot that was next to the surge protector when it happened. Here is what I lost and now replacing.....20" tv in the garage, 2 month old digital surround sound receiver, my less than 2 month old Bose Acoustimass subwoofer, my wife's printer, her company laptop computer, my office phone, my DSL modem, and my LAN card in my less than 1 month old computer. These are the reasons why I haven't been around any this week, I've been busy getting everything back to working order and I didn't have a DSL connection until now.
and to top it off, my wife has been in Louisiana the past few days on business and was on her flight home tonight and they had to divert to San Antonio because of more bad weather over Houston. Last I heard from her around 6:00pm they were sitting on the tarmac and no word on when they would take off again.
The way I look at it is, it can only get better from here.
