I have been offered a Dave Blaney RCCA Elite White Gold Proto. First I want to be sure it is acurate. Do they have proto decals on the rear window, or would the number plate be 0000? There is no decal, but it does have the 0000 number plate.
Second, what would be a fair price to offer? I have never dealt in these before. There was only 25 supposedly produced for sale. There were supposedly only two protos made and some big wheel from JD is supposed to have the other. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

this is correct. it should have serial # 0000. kspool has a proto. i was offered one to buy once but turned it down. it's a nice collectable. but price wise, even being a proto, the driver brings this down. i wouldn't have a clue of market value. in all honesty, you'll probably pay what it's worth to the seller. which in my guess is alot more than it is worth in the real world.
there are generally only 2 or 3 made at most. that was confirmed to me by rcca several years ago. these are difficult to get if it's a gordon or earnhardt. but lesser drivers aren't so desired. rcca offered me one when i complained about all the scalping, etc. going on. but they were like this, not popular drivers. and i'm glad i didn't spend the $200.00, as any they offered me, i probably couldn't get $50.00 for now. and have better things to do with that $200.00 i would've spent then.
good luck.

That's what the deal is w/this one. The guy who has it was supposed to get one, and when it came time to ship, theu were out of them. When he raised hell, they offered him the proto, so he took it. Not looking for a big dollar car, just wanna know what to offer him for it. I may be willing to part w/$100.00, but that prolly won't get it.
Thanks for the help.

Which paint scheme is it? If it's the standard JD, I would go up to $200, just because it's the first ever hard liquor car ever run in NASCAR, which, at least to me, makes it a special collectible. Hell, if you don't want it, see what the guy wants for it and I might buy it from the guy. My proto is a White Gold Dale Earnhardt Wrangler by the way.

Ken, What year release is it? Some white golds were limited to 25 some well more. I have a Harvick White gold that is something like 1200 released. I paid 100 for it new can pick one up all the time now for 40-50. I have the 2007 shell Harvick. It released at $205 and that is what I gave. BUT they are only getting 175-190 for them on the bay. The 1/25 releases seem to be holding there release value or a little more. If it is a prototype that was one of the 1/25 I really feel like $200 would be a good fair offer for you both. If it is a release of 100 or more and it is a Prototype of one of those releases I would probably make my first offer in the $100 -$150 range. It being a Blaney there actually won't be a whole lot of oppurtunities to pick up one of his white golds. Be prepared, I'm shooting in the low end of Fair offer ranges. These could be half to double that in value depending on what the white gold is avtually doing at the time. I don't follow Blaney close enough to know. I'm primarily speaking on the Harviclk releases as I am a lot more familiar with them!

Larkin, I am pretty sure that the year Blaney drove the JD car was the year they did the limited released on the White Golds (25-50 range) and Blaney was probably limited to only 25 due to him being a lesser known driver. I know the While Gold cars you are talking about-- the ones released around 2002-2004 with the higher quantities. Actually, some of the extremely limited White Gold cars aren't even going for their original sale value-- I picked up the Jeremy Mayfield Pitch Black Mountain Dew White Gold Elite off of Ebay a while back for about $150. Like Kwik said, it depends on the drivers, but if you look around, you can get a deal. Hell, I picked up a Dale Jr. 2005 Budweiser White Gold Elite for around $300 which isn't too bad considering what some of these assholes are asking for them!!

It is the standard Jack Daniels scheme. The production was 1 of 25. It is supposedly 1 of 2 that are protos.
I was thinking of starting at $150.00....thanks all for the help. I really do appreciate it!

I offered him $150.00 and he said he couldn't sell it for that. I asked him what he thought he would need, and he never responded back.
