i got a question.......if Burton cant have the AT&T logo on his car, then why can they advertise it on the car when they go to the "text in your vote"?

i want to know why asscar hasn't quelled anyone especially the announcers from saying AT&T.

Nextel sponsors NASCAR's Cup Series, not ESPN. ESPN gets its own sponsors.

Sucky, sucky race. Can't blame the track because the Busch race was great. These COT cars suck. The bumpers match up so you can't 'move' someone like you could before and it seems like the cars stick better than the old and don't get out of control as often.

Congrats to Edwards. He had a great car. Hamlin surely would've given him a run. He rocketed to the front before his engine gave out. Oh well, looking forward to the chase.

They have. David Poole reported on 'The Morning Drive' Thursday on Sirius NASCAR 128 that NASCAR sent out a request to ESPN, PRN, and MRN to refer to Jeff Burtons car as the #31 RCR Chevrolet for the rest of the year. David said that PRN and MRN will probably honor their wishes because of the situation they're in with broadcasting NASCAR races but that the television stations probably wouldn't.

well, there was no baseball game here sat. night, so i tried to watch the race. but that car has made a failing sport, worse. as i said about the road race, it was like watching 43 people riding turtles around the track. that was the worst bristol race, and possibly the worst race i ever tried to watch. i had andy griffiths on less than a half hour into the race, and then the ravens..redskins football game was much more exciting watching there second string teams play!.

From what I was able to see of the race it was boring. I wanted to see bumping and banging for position. All it was was cars going in circles lap after lap. I didn't get to see the first 125 laps cuz a bad storm knocked my power out for over a good hour.

I was at thre race. I can imagine that from the T.V. viewer's perspective it was a bore fest, but from the stands it was actually pretty fun stuff to watch. There was side-by-side (sometimes 3-wide) action all over the place the entire race. But it certainly wasn't the Bristol we've come to expect! Up until lap 125 the fans around me were throwing their hands up in the air as if to ask: "Are we really at Bristol...?" Maybe next year Goodyear will bring a softer tire which may lead to bump-and-run conditions on TWO grooves... 8)

IMO it wasn't boring at all on TV. I actually enjoyed seeing real racing rather than the old way of one groove. Bristol has always been one of my least favorite tracks because it is nothing but a wreck fest. The pace would be so slow as it'd be 20 laps, caution, 20 laps, caution, etc...I would find myself changing the channel during those races because I could never get into them. When it was closing it on green flag pitstops I was sitting on the edge of my chair asking myself is this really Bristol? Are they about to have green flags stops? Overall I thought the racing was 100 times better than normal. I watch NASCAR for the racing and the occasional wreck as that's going to happen every once in a while but I'm not one of these people who only watch NASCAR for the wrecks.

This was always one of my favorite tracks, I am not sure if it is the new track, the COT or a combination of both but I sure miss the bump and run.
Maybe as the track cures things will change ... we always have Martinsville.
