Ive got an authentic David Pearson Patch that came off the arm of his driving suit back in the 70's. It is round with red on the top half and white on the bottom half. In the center it has a 21 in gold lettering. I will post a picture of it tonight, but wanted to get an idea of what something like this could be worth. It was removed at Darlington after David's car was involved in a pit road accident. Apparently a wheel fell off as he was leaving the pits.

If you can have this piece authenticated by a major National company it should be worth some pretty big bucks. Congratulations on having such a unique item.

whats a reputable company that could do it. I would really hate for them to lose it or it get lost in the mail! David lives in Spartangburg which is not far from my house. I would almost rather him authenticate it for me if possible. Get a letter from David himself with his signature on it.

That would almost be even better. Then you could get the letter authenticated by PSA/DNA or GAI and you would have a nice piece to sell.

Man if you could actually get David Person to authenticate that you would have not only a great piece of Nascar history you would have one of those true 1/1 pieces that no one else does. I don't know what it would be worth $$ wise but if I could get that and get David to authenticate it for me. It plain and simply wouldn't have a prive tag. It would be priceless!! Now that is what I call cool!!

Thanks, my dad has had it forever and he gave it to me about 9 years ago. Im 23 and i have a pretty extensive collection. You guys from the pics ive seen though would blow my collection out of the water. I have about 1300 peices (mostly Racing Champions) from 1989-2007. I even have a few 82-84 Ertl cars. This one has always been the neatest part of the collection because it was actually in a race. And what makes it more special is David was the Man at Darlington and Im from South Carolina too. Thanks for the comments. Im going to see if I can get a contact for David.
