Picked up the Dale Jr. 1/64 Driver's Select car today and happened to glance at the pit stop version. What a surprise-- the pit stop version is "kid-friendly"!! That's right, no Bud decals!! DEI logos on there. So WC can sell Beer cars at Wal-Mart but you can only get your beer cars at a NASCAR store if you buy the more expensive ones. Gotta keep those kids sober!! WOW!!!

They are on a base but I haven't looked at the screws. I will check and get back with you this afternoon (if someone else hasn't already answered that for you.) I suspect the answer will be yes.

Hey Karl, is the Driver's Select on another stupid display base with triangular screws?
Those screws are not a big deal. I use a sloted(standard) blade screwdriver just about the size of one leg of the triangle and they come right out. Pretty easily actually. I don't like those bases, and I purchase PLENTY of the miller cars.. :-D

OK... do the pit stops have rubber tires or are they plastic like the WC. Anyone know what they are running? If they are more expensive the the wc, but don't have the rubber tires...then whats the point?

Darce

that is exactly what they are. They have plastic tires and are more expensive. I paid 6 bucks for one of them and 10 for the drivers select. just get the wc's.

Get the Driver's Select cars. Every Cup car they are doing in Winner's Circle or Pit Stop they are doing in DS. And the Quality is so much better. Detailed windows, metal, painted chassis, rubber tires, opening hood...For less then $5 more then the Pitstop.

Never liked hood-open 1/64 scale cars. The hoods are not placed well and you often can see a space between the hood and the rest of the chassis. The best where the ones around 1999 & early 2000's, when the hoods were closed. I believed they tried to "revive" them in 2004. The driver select is still the best choice. I will buy some but not as many as I did in the past with the other version. It also appears that there are some pit stops that are not planned to be released as WC at this time.

RCCA is going to start doing the 1/64 Elites again. If you want details and don't mind paying for them, I would say that is the way to go. JMO!
