Congrats Mello. This chances only comes to a select few. I don't blame you for going to ebay with it. If you offered it up here everybody would want it for less then what you gave for it.

Whoa dude chill out!! I guaruntee you have not put out even close to what I have done on giveaways monetarily speaking and it is not even close to cool bashing the man for trying to gain for his investment. I hope mello makes a buck on this and perhaps he will spread the wealth sometime in the future. We are all here to support one another in the hobby and should share equally in one anothers triumps. Well said! I must agree, Mello put up the money to buy it. It's his choice what he does with it! I'm curious if there is one person here that would straight have offered Mello $275.00 for the car. Be honest! That is what it is at at the time of my post. Smoke20 Would you be willing to spend that much? I know you are a big Stewart collector and so is Joker_20. I really I think this all stemmed from your post. I'm not trying to get into Natalie's business, Just wondering if he had offered it would there have been someone out here that would have made it worth his time. I have seen many times on this board and others where someone put something up for sale and not one post of offer. Let it be posted for well under cost and we all jump at it. The way Mello posted this was giving everyone a fair shot at it and let the person that wants it the most get it. Those platinums are hard to get and very rare. When you are able to make a little something extra to support your hobby I must agree. It is not one bit fair to bash Mello for trying to get the best he can for it! Mellow Good luck and I hope you make some money off of it! I can't say at any time I actually made money in this hobby. I have some investment pieces that someday I hope will at least get me back what I paid. But for the most part I usually come out on the losing end. I have a few big dollar pieces, that I sell every now and then when I need cash, then when I get caught up I buy it again, so it's pretty much a wash.
It is true, he could have offered it here first, but the short time I have spent here, I have noticed that nobody wants to spend big money on a piece, no matter how nice or collectible it is. Nothing personal intended by that....just my observation and that is fine. We are all about collectors helping collectors. If he wants to move it, make some cash for whatever he wants to do w/it, that's his perogative. More power to him.
I know I have posted some pretty highly collectible cars and haven't even received a response. Usually it's just a feeler. Let's face it, if you want to make some money, or at least get what a car is worth, (although it pains me to say this as I don't care for the site) EBay is the way to go. Most boards are real collectors and want to save as much on a purchase as they can, so they can stretch their bucks, and the other boards are mostly dealers so they can buy and re-sell. Consequently they want to pay as little as they can so they can turn them over and make some bucks. Whatever the situation, we are friends and want to help each other whatever the final result would be. JMO, let's work it out guys and stay friends.

Seems like this issue comes up about once a year around here. I have offered up alot of stuff here and seen others do the same thing here. It will sit there in the Classified Section of the board and never get a offer. But as soon as somebody offers up something for free it's gone in a heartbeat. This is a site for collectors and there is alot of us here. We have all helped out others in one way or another and made alot of friends here. This was mellos decision to put this item on ebay or offer it up here. He may have a reason why he put it on Ebay besides offering it up here. I know that I would have done the same thing he did when he heard he was getting this item. If he would have offered it up here there would have been somebody ask him if he would take less for it (No Offense To Anybody).This is one of the best collector boards on the net in my opinion and we have members willing to help out other members on a daily basis. Seems like it's everyday that we have a new post in the Completed Transaction and Feedback forum because one member made a good deal with another member or just a good RAOK item was sent to them. We have a great board and some great members here at TCL and lets not let a little squabble like this get in the way of it.

thanks everyone for standing up for me and since there are a few that need to know everything about everybody elses lives, i'll tell you why i listed it on ebay and not offer it up here. money is tight these days with gas prices and when i got the call that i had rec'd this, my first thought was list it here. now we all know that this is a board where people help out each other. yes, i have done giveaways. hell, i did a raffle for a harvick car that netted over $100 towards the board. i just paid a lawyer $500 to represent me in court to help lower my child support payments. hell, i don't even have cable. i'll tell you what, if it bothers everyone so much, i close the auction and offer it up on here. and just for shits and giggles, how many people on here are interested and would pay what i expect to get from it? bottom line is, i need the extra cash and i need to get the most from this i possiblly could. and ebay is the way to do that. sorry if i offened anyone.

You hit the nail on the head. Cash is tight and the pool of people to draw from is way bigger on the Bay. If I had the cash, I would buy it from you, but, I am broke. That is why I have been listing as much as I have been.
