France ready, waiting on Belgium | Planet F1 | Formula One News

Despite Magny-Cours being axed from the F1 calendar after the 2008 race, France never gave up on returning to the Formula One calendar.
However, finances and a packed scheduled played a role in the country's sabbatical.
But with the former having been resolved, France is hoping to make a comeback with the Paul Ricard circuit alternating with Belgium's Spa.
Sports minister David Douillet told France's RMC Sport: "I have told Bernie Ecclestone that we are ready. We have done the financial side, on which he agreed.
"Now we wait for the position of our Belgian friends, since the project is to alternate between Le Castellet (Paul Ricard) and Spa.
"They have constraints with respect to a contract that binds them still to Bernie Ecclestone for the use of the circuit.
"They need to work out among themselves. But we are ready and we need it. I remind you that we have a nice car industry."
