Doesn't mean anything. Only the guys outside the top 35 even tried to qualify. he got himself into an 'allstar' race. Maybe he can wreck a bunch of cars in that race too.

Doesn't mean anything? What?? First of all it means he will run in the Bud shoot out next year at Daytona. Second of all can you Imagine how that team feels right now after missing so many races at the first of the season to be able to get a pole position. Yea it might not mean much for the race tommorrow but it's got to be a extreme motivational boost for Waltrip racing and for Toyota.
When I looked it up a little while ago and saw that him and Blaney were at the top of the field I almost fell out of my seat! LOL Totally shocked. Now I guess the question is not will they have a big wreck more like who will cause one and who will it take out. Lot of question, variables for this race. I won't miss a single lap!!!!!!

Where did Dave end up after qualifying was over? I have no TV now, so I will be stuck listening on the internet on MRN, or PRN, whoever is carrying the race. If you read this, LMK. TIA!

Why were you 'shocked'? Did you pay no attention to qualifying for the Pepsi 400 (before it was rained out)? It was the same situation. The top 8 or 9 of the qualifiers were guys outside of the top 35. It's pretty simple. If you're guaranteed a spot in the race, starting positions means nothing at Talladega, AND you can't even change your set after qualifying to race setup, chances are you're not going to even try to qualify. You'll put in the race set up and see what it gets you. Now for guys outside of the top 35, they had to put in a qualifying setup to make sure they made the field. So, no, the pole means nothing, really. It may be a slight morale boost, but they'll still struggle (that's if they don't wreck half the field in the first dozen laps).

It should be interesting to see the first couple of laps, considering some of the guys in the front don't have race set-ups going!!!

I was at Daytona and I knew what happened, you just need to tweak your sarcasm meter my friend.

Considering my post had nothing to do with you, I have no idea what your problem is.

is the race worth staying up to 5.10 am to watch (thanks to more boring NFL ;D )
it was kinda slow up until the middle of the race, which is about the time that they usually get antsy. after that it got pretty good and then the finish, was on the edge of my seat. typical Dega race

I didn't see it, but I listened to it and it always sounds better on the radio than it does to watch it. Everybody is saying it was a bore to watch.
