...but Jimmy Spencer is terrible as an announcer. He can't even talk half of the time. He trips over his words and he just tries to say big things his mind can't seem to handle. He should stick to driving. I think he would do fine if given a good ride, but he should hang up the announcing gig. JMO.

He wasn't that good at driving either lol. I haven't heard him as an announcer, but Rusty Wallace is pretty bad. He struggles to complete a thought before jumping to something else.

He did have the quote of the year in Mexico City... well, not quote so much as a sigh. His son Steven was leaving pitroad and the announcer said that he'd have to come back in because he was speeding and all you could hear after that was a heavy *sigh* from Rusty. HILARIOUS!

But, all the announcers... it's hard to pick any that are really, really good. I always liked Allen Bestwick, but I guess he wants to be a pit reporter. I watched a race from 1995 and they had Dick Berggren in the booth and he did a good job. Buddy Baker wasn't bad, Bob Jenkins was great and Mike Joy's always been solid. But everyone else is either subpar and just plain annoying. I'll add that Dale Jarrett does a pretty good job as well.

Watch "Race Day on Speed" and you will see Spencer, and Wallace (Kenny). They are bad. I can stomach Kenny Wallace, but Spencer and that guy from Speed are in overdrive and their mind can't keep up w/their mouth. Just plain irritating.
I only watched it today since it was the only thing on.
