CAN YOU SAY $$$$$$ for a free agent? Hope he does end up with RCR! He is strongly saying he wants to stay with Chevy, Hendricks is full, Gibbs and RCR have open slots. He has over half a season to find a new team but I'm thinking he will be driving THE #3. What do you think?

Definately between Hendrick, RCR, and Gibbs. They have the strongest organizations right now and would certainly take on a driver like Dale Jr. (not to mention the sponsor power he has). If Hendrick really wants him, they can figure out a way to move Mears or Busch. Most likely Mears. They could pass him to Ginn or Haas. But I think it will be RCR. They have a slot open and I bet both Dale Jr. and Childress want that deal to happen.

gotta believe he'll be in the #3 car next year at rcr. that's the logical solution.
he get along with haevick, and stewart. so it could go either way i guess. but, jr. in the black 3 seems likely. can't see hendricks wanting 4 top notch teams. i don't think it's doable. to many personality conflicts. time will tell

Gibbs is an interesting one. He is friends with Tony and Hamlin. Could be appealing...Not to mention racing for Coach Gibbs. But can you imagine all of the merchandising for Jr in the Black #3 car? Cha-Ching! $$$$$$
That's what will seal this deal. As I understand it his sponsorship contract with Budweiser is up just as his DEI contract expires. I believe Budweiser will want to keep him and he should want to stay with them. I can definately see the #3 Budweiser car in the RCR family next season. As for DEI, sadly, I think it may be the beginning of the end for that organization unless they land a big fish to replace little E.

Honestly, The best DEI can hope for now is some rookie to come in and some something spectacular like Edwards and Kahne did. Other than that I don't see any big fish except Dale Jarrett going there and that is a big long shot!!!!

You all know it could be just a ploy.... to get things moving along....
Darce, I hardly think so. This has been in the works all season. After the press conference it's pretty clear that Jr. and Teresa could not even come close to reaching an agreement. I have a feeling from what I heard it wasn't just the 51% ownership of DEI that he was looking for. He was wanting changes that would have been directly effecting DEI and Teresa is just not ready to let those decisions be made by anyone but herself. I'm really curious what Truex is going to do anlong with Tony Urich Jr. dale Jr. wouldn't comment about anyone but himself and his sister. Everything else is still an open debate.

As a true Jr. Fan, I am glad that he made this announcement now!!! I don't think in my mind that he is going for the money, but he wat's to be competetive!!! They have lost the competitveness at the once dominant "Plate Tracks", because of the lack of R & D from DEI!!!! I think it will be best for Jr. to go to someother team or to go with his own team and reinvest in himself!!!!
