Not diecast related but I thought I would share this with all the fellow collectors on here. About two months ago, I joined the Jeff Gordon Fan Club thru his website www.jeffgordon.com. Thru out the year, Jeff does about 5 or 6 special apperances for members of his club...but members have to put in a free application for that specific event and winners are randonly choosen. Well I got a letter yesterday in the mail informing me that I was selected to attend the Jeff Gordon Network Kansas Event at the Kansas Speedway on September 29th along with two guests. I have only been a member for a very short time but I was choosen right away! One of my friends has been a member since 2000 and he has never received this letter.
The letter states, "We are happy to inform you that your entry to attend the Kansas Network Event has been selected. A final time for the event has yet to be determined: you will receive notice when it is established, along with more event day specifics. We will send out another letter in early to mid August with additional information. Jeff will meet each member and their guest(s) and sign one licensed item each of your choice. Please be sure the item you want jeff to sign is licensed by JG Motorsports or Hendrick Gordon Licensing prior to the event. Motorsports Authentic die cast cars, Chase apparel, and personal photographs of Jeff and/or his No. 24 car are accepted. No. 24 car parts must be accompanied by an official letter of authenticity. Jeff Gordon and the JGN staff look forward to seeing you soon!"
I was also told that Jeff does individual photo opportunities while at this event...so not only do I get to meet him in person, I get an item of mine signed (1/24 ARC Chip Foose or 1/24 ARC 400 Career Starts) and a picture of both of us. I am so stoked...I cannot wait until September!!!
