Mid-burnout, Sunday's race winner Jimmie Johnson stuck his hand out the window and formed a "3" with his fingers -- his 76th career premier series victory Sunday atAtlanta Motor Speedway tied him with the great Dale Earnhardt.
"It's such an honor," Johnson said in Victory Lane. "With the chaos at the end and the crash ... I kind of lost sight of that. I remembered on my victory lap and had to come down and throw three fingers at the window to respect the man."
Dale Earnhardt Jr. was happy to see his teammate tie his father's record.
"I don't have a problem calling (Johnson) the best of this generation," Junior said.
