Cool Diecast. I just never liked chrome elite or gold for nascar diecast. I only collect Standard and Race Wins for extra detail with same stretches and dings.
I like to collect the diecast of each season's drivers champion car. I have about 55 so far and after collecting so many of the past champions in standard sponsor/paint scheme mode, today's race-won finishes just don't look right in my collection. I'm interested in displaying clean-looking cars like my classic Petty, Earnhardt, Yarborough, Johnson, et al cars looked like back in the day. More like race-started finish.
So, a Chris Buescher 2022 Mustang donor car was purchased, paint stripped and repainted with Tamiya TS-16 Dukksarse Yellow. A Salvino's hood was pilfered from a Logano 1/24 scale model kit (fits perfectly) to provide a proper, 3-D vented hood (Lionel just uses cheap decals to create the optical illusion of hood vents). Everything is ready and awaiting decals from Mike's Decals and I'll post pics of the results when done.
