LAS VEGAS—After a media session post-qualifying Friday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Brad Keselowski discussed the 2016 aerodynamics package and his chances of winning Sunday’s Kobalt 400.Keselowski, who posted a top-ten finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the first race under the current “low-downforce” aero package, says it’s too soon to say if it suits his driving style.
“Good so far,” Keselowski said to The Racing Experts. “It’s very, very early to tell, but I think that every driver has enough ego to say that they think they’re the best and they want the cars to be hard to drive because they’ll go to the front and, this package, is of course, very hard to drive. So I’m looking forward to continuing to race and iron out those pieces.”
Keselowski will start fourth, his first top-ten qualifying effort of 2016. The 2012 Sprint Cup champion is listed as a nine-to-one favorite, according to Racing Reference.Keselowski, the 2014 Las Vegas winner, talked about his confidence in winning Sunday’s Kobalt 400.“I feel really good,” he said. “We’ve made some good upgrades to our car over the last four or five days, and I think they’ll pay off.”
