Kurt Busch has his eyes on a possible return to the Indianapolis 500.
Jared C. Tilton

Kurt Busch drove in the Indy 500 two years ago, turning heads in the process. Will he do it again?

Could Kurt Busch make another run at the Indianapolis 500/Coca-Cola 600 double? It sure sounds like he's interested.
After Busch won the pole for Sunday's Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, FOXSports.com asked Busch if he had any update on his hopes to find an Indy 500 ride this year.
"Nothing new on Indy. Part of the reason for staying here in Vegas extra is a few different meetings have popped up," said Busch. "We are going to go through some of the meetings, even bumped into (Verizon IndyCar Series team owner) Sam Schmidt today. There is definitely the interest, the intrigue, but nothing to announce right now."
This year will mark the 100th running of the Indy 500, which would make competing in the race even more attractive than usual.
Two years ago, Busch finished sixth and claimed Indy 500 Rookie of the Year honors driving for Andretti Autosport. It was Busch's first open-wheel race and his performance drew raves from IndyCar veterans.
Unfortunately for Busch, later that night he lost an engine in the Coca-Cola 600 and was not able to complete the full distance in the double then.
But he might be in a position to take another run at it this year.
Stay tuned. This story could be gathering steam soon.

I'd like to see him do it again too.
I hope he does it too.
Hope he does. I bet if he wins here in the next couple of weeks (or today, he's got a great shot) and all but locks in to the Chase, it won't be long after that we hear an official announcement. Not that he won't still do it if he's winless by the end of April, necessarily, but clearing that hurdle would help.
Wouldn't that be a kick to Tony's gut if he won both races, something Stewart tried but didn't do.
I know one reason he didn't run the 500 last year was because Stewart-Haas runs Chevys and Andretti switched to Honda. With Stewart-Haas going to Ford next year, I wonder if Kurt would be less concerned with hurting Chevy's feelings and running a Honda at Indy.

Andretti Ran Honda when he raced the 500 as well. as a thank you to Chevy Kurt wore a big Chevy Logo on his firesuit where Haas usually is.

gonna be interesting to see how Kurt would do. Andretti isnt quite as dominant as they were 2 years ago it seems. could be wrong though.
