LD Motorsport bags new major backer

LD Motorsport will run two cars in near-identical liveries for the first time when the V8 Supercars season kicks off at Clipsal next week, with SP Tools coming on as a major backer.
After two seasons of the being a major sponsor at the Holden Racing Team, SP Tools has downsized its backing at the factory team and gone for two full cars at LD Motorsport.
That means that for the Clipsal 500 both Nick Percat and new signing Andre Heimgartner will run almost exactly the same livery, a first for the team in its two-car history.
According to Heimgartner, who will test for the team for the first time at Winton today, the sponsor coup is a very positive sign for LDM.
“It’s really cool to have SP Tools on board,” said the Kiwi.
“They are a familiar company that has been up and down pit-lane in the past, and for them to now be involved with LDM proves that this team is really moving forward.
“Hopefully we can represent SP Tools well on the track and I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel.”
