I have NO Precious Metal cars in my collection. I am curious what everyone would suggest?
Here are the parameters...
No driver preference, based on coolness of the paint scheme,
Cost is important, but not all inclusive. I know they are not cheap, but I don't want to spend a fortune,
What is preferential, white Gold or Platinum?
RCCA Elite or FRFO c/w/c?
I may have more info to add as the discussion continues, and when all is said and done, I will make a decision and post a want ad for the piece I have chosen.
Right now I have NO IDEA what I intend to spend, so feel free to make ANY suggestion. The budgetary decision will be made later when the choice of car is made.
Thanks in advance for the help. I have gotten to really respect the opinions of my fellow board members, that is why I am tossing this out there, besides the chance to get some board participation.
Let's have some fun w/this, but be as serious as you can, I really want your help all!

first i would say, don't buy any of the precious metals with the intent on getting rich. if you watch ebay, many of the 1 of 25's go off for less than original prices. many others basically break even. so, if you do this, buy only cars you like and intend on keeping. and figure, when it's time to let them go, be prepared to lose money if you have to sell them.
i never have bought one. had the chance once, but cancelled it. and i'm glad, as it's value is less than i would've paid.

also, where i live, there is little market for most any diecast, no matter how old, or who it is, or what it's made of.

Yeah, not collecting to get rich, or even make anything. I have prolly over 300 1/24th scale cars, and right now maybe (and that's a BIG maybe) three or four of them are really worth anything....I collect a little on guys I like, and a little on cars I like the paint scheme on. If it strikes me, and I think it will still strike me later, I collect it. Once in awhile I buy a big dollar piece, and then later if I need some cash, I may sell it, but I always re-buy it again when I can afford to. It is a hobby and I love it. In fact, it is more than a hobby for me. I use it to meet people and to help people out who collect also. It makes me feel good to make somebody else happy. Guess you can call it my weak spot. LOL!
Thanks for the tips, and keep em' comming all!

I would like to put my two cents in on this for what it is worth. First off white gold and chrome are basiclly the same appearance. tTe main difference is the chrome versions in my opinion carry more of the actual paint graphics than the white golds. For the price difference I will probably stick to chromes if anything. Yellow gold cars like the ones on QVC look pretty sharp ecspecially when the gold is replacing where the yellow should be such as Blaneys and Harvicks cars are this year. I haven't gotten to see a Platinum in person yet but from the pics I've seen I really didn't see the hype. I recently did see however the Harvick copper. That looked really cool and for the money I must say was probably the best Metal car for the money I have seen so far. I have grown found of the color chromes! More realistic but that added flash really makes them stand out. Again for the money It's a good choice and something to show off. Finally the brushed metals, and the Pearls, and Mesma colors. In certain cases I really like the brushed metals. Joker_20 did a custom for me for Christmas last year and instead of the silver replaced it with brushed metal. It looks totally cool! I like the Mesma on certain cars but others I don't care for it on. I would try to see as many in person as possible before even considering!! It is really hard to judge almost all of these cars by pictures alone!!

That's some good info. I liked the Earnhardt Sr. 75th win platinum, because of the white graphics. The same way w/the Gordon 75th win platinum, but I don't care for the crome wheels and I think the interior is chrome also. I may be wrong. If the wheels were stock like the Sr. I would really like it also. You are right, some of the colorchromes are really sweet if they are the right paint scheme. I will take your tips under advisement....Thanks!
