They will probably go with the ugly ass chevy cobalt and never win a manufactures championship again. Might as well, they already sell them with the wing on the back like the Nascar car of tomorrow.

I know they use the cobalt in NHRA drag racing Pro Stock Series. They look like shit. I'm an old schooler, and no matter how hard they try, these new cars just don't look like Hot Rods!

They will be in the COT full-time by then, so the car will be the Impala SS.

Don't knock the Cobalt guys. How many of you own one? While it may not look like much, it's a very capable car, and quite comfortable to ride in and drive. My brother owns a 2005 in Jeff Gordon blue. At least that's what I call it.

They will race the Camaro.

Ford will race the Mustang and Dodge the Challenger. Don't know about Toyota, and frankly I don't care about Toyota anyway.

You guys will probably think I'm nuts here, but mark my words....It will happen in 2009. (Provision: Possibly not until 2011 because of the 3-year rule, I don't know how NASCAR will play that one yet)

The Camaro is not replacing the Monte Carlo. The Monte Carlo is being phased out like they did with the Camaro. They are bring the Camaro back with a new/older body style which looks great, just like Ford did with the Mustang. I own a 2004 MC and a 1978 Z28 Camaro, I just sold my 1979 Camaro back in November and I used to own a 1981 Monte Carlo. So you see, I am a fan of both body styles and if I have my way, I'll be a owner of the new Camaro when they come out, or at least after my wife quits yelling at me when I tell her I'm getting one.

If you don't know by now, Chevy will be racing the Impala in Nascar.

Those "Pony cars" like the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger may be used someday in Busch, but I don't ever see them being used in Cup. They went bigger for safety in the COT, so it would make little sense to go smaller in overall body size. The Avenger, the Impala, the Fusion and Camry will remain unless they replace them w/something similar in size. If Ford keeps making it, I would not be surprised to see them switch to the Ford 500 someday, but it will probably be the Fusion for a long time. Ford is not real big on change.

I would hope the Camaro would take the place of the Monte Carlo, if the Monte Carlo has to go.
that is exactly what i think is going to happen. the new retro camaro is coming out in 2008 or 2009 so that looks like the most logical guess.
