NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France endorsed Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump on Monday night at a rally at Valdosta State University in Georgia, one day before the Super Tuesday primary.
France was joined on stage by NASCAR drivers Ryan Newman, David Ragan and Chase Elliott, along with NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott.
Trump invited France to the podium.
“I’ve known Donald for over 20 years,” France told the audience. “I’m going to tell you one thing about him. You know about his winning in business and success. I’m here to tell you he wins with his family. He does. He does.
‘I’ll tell you one thing. If you leave on one other thing, any of his children you would be proud to have as part of your family. That’s how I judge a winner, how somebody manages their family, raises their family. That’s how I judge.”
Trump introduced Bill Elliott by saying: “We love Bill!”
Bill Elliott said at the podium: “I don’t know what to say. I’ve known him just a little bit. For what he can do, I think, for our country, I’m all for it. We need a change, guys. That’s all there is to it. I think this is the man for the job.”
Trump later introduced Chase Elliott as “the hottest young driver in the world.”
Chase Elliott then said on the stage: “I’m not sure why he let me say anything. Just happy to be here. This is a great man. I think he’s a guy who can do some great things for us.”

I had enough of Trump when he made fun of veteran and war hero John McCain by saying "I like people who weren't captured". And when he made fun of that disabled reporter. Just when it seemed like France scrapes the bottom of the barrel he keeps finding new ways to look like an idiot.

France and Trump deserve each other. Sad to see Chase and Bill support him though.

Anyone with a spare 20 minutes should definitely watch this.

Better Trump than that worthless lying POS Hillary Clinton. No one deserves to be the POTUS less than she does.

That is probably the best video on the Internet ever. I agree about them deserving each other. Idiots of a feather flock together, or something like that.

That was a great segment, I love John Oliver.

The problem with the Chairman endorsing ANY candidate is the perception will be that NASCAR is endorsing that candidate. Really disappointed that anyone from NASCAR would be foolish enough to stand on stage to public endorse a candidate. It's just worse that it's this jackass. Wonder how NASCAR sponsors and those drivers sponsors feel about this.

They're both terrible choices. I plan to vote, but i won't be able to bring myself to pick if he wins the Republican nomination and she wins the Democrat nomination. It would be lose lose.

Agreed there. I wish there was a sensible moderate choice.

I wonder if more fans will fall out with the Elliotts, Newman, and Ragan because of endorsing Trump or if more prospective Trump voters will shy away because he was endorsed by France.

In all seriousness I like all four drivers a lot, doesn't change my opinion on any of them at all even though I cast my early vote for one of his rivals for the Republican nomination last week. I might be a little aggravated for a bit if they had endorsed the former Sec. of State that had their audition at leadership and failed miserably but has a strong chance of winning because my generation is a bunch of idiots less concerned with what's going on in the world and at home and more concerned with what the freaking Kardashians are doing or what the latest app they can bury their nose against the phone with is, but that's beside the point. John Mellencamp is my favorite musician and we're pretty far apart on politics, so I don't really worry what celebrities or athletes do politically since it's their right to their opinion just like I've got mine. It's silly to boycott an actor, musician, or race driver because of what they do at the ballot box. The underlying message when they speak out regardless of who they support is to go vote so hopefully people do that.

I do hope this doesn't affect sponsorship for the drivers or for other teams or the sport in general with France's endorsement, given the polarizing nature of Trump's candidacy.

I'd prefer John Kasich, but it looks like Trump is it. I wouldn't vote for Clinton with a gun to my head. In the words of the Godfather....I'd rather my brains "be on the paper" than mark the ballot for that lying, cheating, waste of air. Trump looks like Jesus Christ himself compared to her. She is so vile I can't even fathom her being the POTUS.

I am a huge Trump supporter and absolutely love this. The fact Bill and Chase were there was icing on the cake.

On a side note if Bill/Chase supported Hillary or Bernie it would mean a thing to me. A persons political views are worthless to me. You won't ever change the way I feel and I won't change you.

Honestly very surprised. France struck me as a liberal, and I thought these drivers were wiser than to look no father than Trump when there are better candidates to choose from. And Im surprised they even announced this after they dropped Trump's facilities for the NXS and NCWTS banquets.

Even though I don't prefer Trump, I think it's foolish that people are going to quit watching simply because a few individuals within the industry endorse him.
Went looking at some sponsor mentions.. yeah.. peeps ain't happy and they're letting sponsors know. Look at NAPA's..

I thought it was more about Brian France and it's not the first one that has been brought up about NASCAR and Donald Trump. :)
