2006 John Force U.S Nationals 25th anniversary, story below

"one of the most sought after John Force cars out there, I've seen it go on ebay for 400 and up sometimes. This car is my pride and joy, not because it's rarity and value, but a year after the 2005 floods which affected me and my family, he ran this car at the biggest race of the season. Well in 2007 we went to Englishtown like always and the previous day I had passed 7th grade, my father bought me this car for 150 dollars as a present for passing. To this day that car holds the most value to me, that in all the trouble we faced as a family with the flood, he still bought me that car"

When I was in TX, i purchased a 1:24 20 independance day ARC from a board member ( I forget who sorry). A guy who I got talking to at an office depot signing swapped it for an elite version for free, which I then got tony to sign.

that car will never ever leave my possesions

As an Earnhardt Sr. die-cast collector, I have been fortunate to share the hobby and enjoy my journey with a number of "old school" Earnhardt Sr. collectors over the years who helped me acquire some very special die-cast. Collector helping Collector...

In the spirit of this thread, I will share two based on their respective historical significance to the sport...1998 and 2001 Daytona 500.

I imagine Dale Sr. signed a few more of the following die-cast; however, I have never seen one surface which was authentically autographed. Another "old school" Earnhardt Sr. collector helped me acquire this beauty after a decade of "hunting".

This following die-cast was the last die-cast produced and distributed by RCCA before Dale's passing. They were shipped to members just before the 2001 Daytona 500. The window of opportunity to acquire Dale's autograph on this die-cast was unfortunately minimal. I purchased this die-cast privately years ago from a friend of Dale's who was able to acquire his signature within the window of opportunity.

Awesome cars, and I can understand why they would never leave your possession

Sadly, when you own a racing collectibles business, I can't adopt this philosophy...Everything I acquire is for sale. Thats the number one rule in business is never fall in love with your investments. I've moved many pieces that have pained me to see go. These few come immediately to mind:

Michael Schumacher "Marlboro" Driver Suit

Dale Earnhardt Sr raced used sheetmetal

Jimmie Johnson Martinsville raced win car hood, signed by Chad and Jimmie, and

a 1/2 scale hood that was signed by close to a hundred different current and legends drivers

I did find a creative way around things I want to keep in the family. Have the driver personalize it to your kids. My kids have amassed quite a collection of pieces from various drivers. The late, Dan Wheldon, Jeff Gordon, Trevor Bayne, and a few others have all personalized their autographs to them on some really neat pieces. So thats my work around (LOL)

if I needed money, went through family issues, whatever...I'd sell every last toy I have...just toys...but I purchased them as memories so none of them have a price or need to go anywhere. I collect because I like to. A lot of them have great memories behind them, particularly some of the custom pieces that landed me a job...but in the end it's just metal and plastic.

In all sincerity, I can't see myself selling any of my diecast. Each car has a special meaning behind it, and thats why I have it in my collection. I love NASCAR, and the memories and history associated with each car remind me of the love and respect I have for NASCAR. That's why I couldn't give them up, because to me they are more than just a hobby.

I dont have many Diecast but it would have to be my 1/24 Dale jr Daytona july win 2010 (nationwide) Jeff Gordon 1/24 Phoniex Raced Version and the car dgrove gave to me Tony Stewart 2000 Revell 1/24.

My diecast that I would never get rid of at any circumstances is my Franklin mint 1:24 Richard petty triple signed
It's signed by Richard petty, lee petty and Maurice petty that's a 1 of a kind to me. Also my other richard petty franklin mints i have signed. my historical series cale yarborough autographed hardees love that car.my BPS triple signed by dale sr jr and Kerry Earnhardt I'm desperatly trying to get Richard childress and tony eury sr to sign it and I'll be set with that car. those are my cars

I'm not sure which cars I would hold on to. However, after reading your post, I think the Steve Park car is a keeper, no questions, as you stated just because of the sentimental value. All cool cars you listed!

Barring a catastrophic event, which diecast do you own that you would NEVER sell under any circumstances. Say you decided you have had enough, and you were going to give it all up, which car (or cars) would you hold onto anyway?

For me, there are a couple...

I would keep my Dale Earnhardt Wrangler White Gold elite serial #0000.
The Original Crash Car
And a Steve Park Pit Row Winner's Circle that my late brother gave me-- it was the last thing he ever gave me before he passed 9 years ago.

My Kyle busch 2009 Bristol win I love tge car it's a sad weekend in my life but it made it a little better

I Would Never Sell The One Rc Dale Sr. Car My Granddeddy Gave Me And The Dale Sr. 1/18th Diecast God How I Miss Him

That covers quite a substantial amount of my collection actually.

The main reason behind that is that in most cases I relied on help from members form this forum and other nice US citizens willing to help me collect what I collect, so most diecast I own have a little story attached to them.

One one side that kind of offsets the high shipping cost, while at the same time it makes my collection just a bit more enjoyable in my opinion, and on the other side it also slows down my collecting quite a bit.

I am able to make this list without even looking at the diecast or my photo albums to see whether or not I forgot one because my collection is fairly small and most of the cars in it are special to me in one reason or another.

1) Shane Huffman NAVY Trackside Elite.

After all the hassle before I could finally lay hands on one of these, it get´s here broken in several places, and after fixing it I noticed it´s signed across the windshield by Shane Huffman. Dave helped me get this one. Without his help I think I would still be looking for a Shane Huffman NAVY elite. Same thing as every morning I woke up (at 4) searched Ebay for Shane Huffman and saw the car, with a Buy It Now option. Dave coincidentally signed on a few minutes later and I asked him if he could do me a favour. About 2 months later I was able to collect the car from the customs office and fix it.

2) Greg Biffle 2007 American Heroes RCCA Elite

This was my first contact with Dave, and as things worked out I´m glad I PM´ed him about this car after he offered to sell it to me.

3) Jimmie Johnson 2011 Talladega Win Elite

This was purchased in the 2011 black Friday Sale, and without Dubbs I would not have been able to buy something from Lionel at that time.

4) Kevin Harvick 2011 Budweiser ARC

I bought this one from Taz. There is yet another story attached to this car and it was topic of a lot of discussion between Dubbs and me

5) Kevin Harvick 2004 Snap-On

This was an RAOK from Dave, and as a rule of thumb I will hold on dearly to anything sent to me out of kindness. It´s a really sweet car too.

6) Kevin Harvick 2011 military tribute RCCA elite

This was the first COT car I actually wanted to buy. Up to that point I was still quite torn on whether or not I liked the COT, but this paintjob changed that for me. I pre-ordered this with the help of Dave and it got to me after quite a bit of waiting

7) Kevin Harvick 2005 Quicksilver GMGW color chrome

This one was my secret santa gift. Something I´d never expected and greatly appreciate, given to me by fishin4cars, so that one is definately staying as well

8) Ward Burton 2007 American Heroes RCCA elite

At the time I started looking for the American Heroes diecast Simkon informed me that the Burton is quite difficult to get a hold of. He only saw one of them appear on ebay and bought that one himself. A few weeks later he sent me a heads up that this Burton diecast was auctioned on GMB. When I looked at the auction it had already ended though. 2 weeks went by and the same Ward Burton diecast went back up for auction on GMB because the auction winner did not pay. I placed a bid, didn´t think too much of it, but hoped for the best and won the auction! I was at work when the auction ended, so I got the good news when I got back home.

9) Jimmie Johnson 2002 Rookie car Lowes Racing Champions

This one is an RAOK from GWCDiecast

10) Jeff Gordon 1992 Baby Ruth

A whole series of events and a lot of nice communication between Jeff (GWCDiecast), Dave and somewhere Dubbs as well kind of drove this diecast into my hands. I didn´t have much of a say in it all, and other then shipping cost there wasn´t much payment involved so I consider this one a RAOK from all 3 mentioned members

11) Jimmie Johnson 2003 Lowes ARC

This one was an RAOK from Dave

Other then the 11 cars and 11 stories attached to them mentioned above there are a few diecast I will hold on to because they are too nice to sell, even if it would mean I would have to move to a cheaper appartment or eat nothing but plain rice for a month.

I´ll just continue numbering them

12) Jon Wood 2007 American Heroes RCCA Elite (together with the JJ American Heroes these were my first two NASCAR diecast)
13) Jimmie Johnson 2007 American Heroes RCCA Elite
14) Casey Mears 2007 American Heroes RCCA Elite
15) Jimmie Johnson 2006 Kobalt ARC
16) Jimmie Johnson 2004 HMS 20th RCCA elite
17) Jimmie Johnson 2008 Eldora Late Model Dirt by ADC
18) Kevin Harvick 2004 Snap On truck ARC (couldn´t have gotten this without the help of Dave)
19) Matt Crafton 2004 KISS truck ARC (got this one from RonMCC and I am really happy that I did because Ron is another great guy helping me with my collecting adventures)
20) Kevin Grubb 1999 Timberwolf ARC (got this with the help of Dave as well)
21) Jeff Gordon 2004 Wizard of Oz RCCA Elite (there is a story behind this one too)
22) Mark Martin 1986 Carolina Ford RCCA Elite
23) Rick Wilson 1990 Kodak by GMP

That´s about half of my collection, and I would add 4 more cars that I am currently waiting for to the list if they were already here.

Somehow door numbers, low production numbers or special finishes don´t make diecast special for me. I´m in it for the people and the stories behind my diecast. That´s what makes this hobby worth my while for me.

i would never sell my:
trevor bayne 500 win- first 1/24 i bought on my own
2009 rookie logano-present from mom
2008 logano kentucky win- 2nd ccar i bought with my own money, and proud of it
