we have a chance to go to the all-star race but i would imagine there are no more hotel rooms available by now. does anyone live close to the track, that has enough room and wouldn't mind having 2 guests?

i would have offered my home but well most of the furniture will have been sold and most everything in boxes.rob and i just bought our first house :-D and should be moving that wekend

Ron, Glad to see that problem is solved!! That is a really cool facility up there and well worth making the trip of for nothing else other than the race. But there are a LOT of attractions such as Race shops, museums, and etc, plus you have to make the trip downtown to see all the vendors! That's an experience in it self.

Natalie, Glad to see you back again and congradulations on yours and Rob's new home purchase!! That's a good feeling to walk into that first home and know it belongs to YOU!!!! Good luck! Hope everything goes smooth for all of you!!!

thanks smoke. as Larkin said, congrats on the home. we also are in process of getting a house and will close on the 18th and will be moving in around Memorial weekend.

Im going for the All-Star race and the Coke 600 but I wont be arriving till late Saturday for the all star. Like 5 pm late. What kind of vendors are downtown? Do you mean like past Lowes on into charlotte or what? Ive never been to a race there.

Downtown Charlotte right up main street. I went to the 600 two years ago and got a bag full of neat giveaway stuff. Promo diecast, home depot cards, post cards etc etc. they have a stage set for drivers to come out and talk to the fans, several driver appearances. Be sure and check out to see when drivers are appearing and where. most will make an appearance at one place or another over the two week period. Also try and take the time to see some of the Race shops in the area. Penske, DEI, Hendricks, Moore, wood brothers, and RCR are all within driving distance. Just be prepared for some long lines at DEI and Hendricks. Some other sites worth taking in are Moorsville, Home of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., Sam Bass museum right by the track along with MA/ Action motorsports which is right by the track too. And for the haulers and tents. Easily as many there as at any other track on the circuit and since they will be there for two weeks some really good deals can be found on the last weekend. Ron if you get up there in time though Main stteet strip is free and a really cool walk to see if you haven't seen it before. about four or five blocks of a little bit of everything NASCAR set up by the sponsors!! Almost as much fun as anything else!!

I guarantee he does!! I was suppose to meet up with him when I went but he had a fishing tournament that weekend and we didn't get to hook up but I have talked to others that have gotten to meet up with him and they had a blast!!!

ok boys and girls, i have returned from the All-Star race. i would like to thank Purdue for his hospitality and letting me stay with him. it was great to meet yet another fellow board member. while i did take some pics, i don't think they will be very good. seems like the ones i took at the speedway, where are seats were are too far away so you may not see things too good. one thing that i forgot to do was get a pic of Purdue and myself. on saturday i went to DEI and Rouch and took some pics. i will post all pics ASAP. i had a great time and now i can say i was at the 2007 All-Star race and can cross the Lowes Motor Speedway off the list of track i need to go to. wished i could have hooked up with other board members that might have been there but we just barley got to the track in time to get to our seats before things started. i was concerned we would miss a lot of action where we were in turn 2 but seemed like all the action happened right in front of us.
