Due to a lack of interest to participate, and in an effort to keep the PIF thread from backtracking any further, it has been put on hold. If it reopens in the future, swift89 will be offered the first chance to put a car up since it stopped at him. Thanks to all that have participated.

I got a couple cars I could give up. I don't have much space and I want cars that having meaning to me, not ones I have that I bought on impulse.

team3and8 Wadda ya think?

I know you would be a much desired participant if PIF was reopened Ken. But I think we would need more participants like yourself to kickstart this again and be a success. I'd hate to see it slowly fade out as it did the last time. But it will be discussed by staff. If anyone else would be interested in participated please post in this thread.

Here's my take on this whole "Pay it Forward" idea. If you want to pay it forward, find a car that you own than needs a new home and a fan of that driver, and RAOK it to someone. While paying it forward is a great idea, this idea seems to be more about members receiving than giving. I've been on this board since it's inception, and although I am less active now, I have definitely given more than I have received. I am not posting that to brag, because I have received some pretty kick ass RAOK's from some stand-up guys here (i.e. FFighter_21 to name one), but when he sent it to me, he never expected anything in return. I can say the same for the RAOK's I have sent out; I sent them to people who may not have had the capability to participate in this; and using something like this may exclude some members because they can't abide by the rules. In general, I don't even require the person to whom I send a RAOK to mention it was I who sent them the item; I leave it up to them. That is truly paying it forward.

Good point kspool I believe this was besides the pay it foreward aspect, also a way to get a car that you may need if you saw it posted. It was in the hopes that people would put up cars that were more than just cast offs. That we would be "generous" so to speak. Not tooting my own horn, but I put up some pretty good pieces, and others did as well. It gave me a ggod feeling to know that some one else was getting a good car, and that it was giving someone else the opportunity to to do that as well. It allowed folks the opportunity to upgrade their collection, and we do not know who needs what at any given time I guess I want to say......I am STILL active in RAOK as well. As soon as I get paid, I have some going out, just don't have the shipping funds at the moment. Oh the joy of being old, disabled and on a fixed income. :(

As I see it, you have people that have cars that they want to receive a new home to someone that would appreciate more, then you have the guys who got a car for $5 on planbsales eBay and want to get rid of it.

I miss the days of die-cast shows. Where dealers and just plain collectors would rent tables, set up and sell and trade stuff. They were plentiful, back when Die-Cast digest existed and we could list the shows. I went almost every weekend. I bought and sold a ton. Ahh, the good old days.
