Penske switching to Ford in 2013: Penske Racing will in 2013 switch from Dodge to Ford in NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competition, automotive-industry sources have informed Autoweek. An official announcement is expected midday Thursday. Penske fields Dodge Chargers for #2-Brad Keselowski and #22-A. J. Allmendinger. When Penske returned [too NASCAR] in 1991 he fielded Pontiacs through the 1994 season. He switched to Fords for the next eight seasons, 1995 through 2002, before forming his alliance with Dodge which reached nine years last season. All told, he's fielded 1,503 Cup entries, won 96 poles and 71 races. His cars have finished in the top-five 333 times and in the top-10 573 times. Penske Racing has never won a Cup championship but has been top-10 in final points 19 times. But Penske Racing has been in a mini slump of late. It has won at least one race every year since 1991 but has only 18 wins in 768 starts dating to 2004. The year before, Newman won eight races, more than half his NASCAR career total of 15. The Dodge years, beginning in 2003, are somewhat deceiving. Newman, in his second full year with Penske Racing, won eight races for Dodge in 2003, by far the brand's best NASCAR showing since its glory days with Richard Petty in the 1970s. Wallace won once in his next-to-last season of 2004, and Newman gave Dodge only three wins in his last four years with Penske. Kurt Busch won 10 times for Dodge in his six seasons with Penske Racing, and Keselowski has won three times.(AutoWeek)(3-1-2012)

What im thinking is, all this commotion about the 2013 dodge nascar, with basically only robby gordon driving it as a start and parker. unless some other teams switch back to dodge.
What the hell are you trying to say?

sorry. dodge are officially anouncing the car at las vegas. now the main dodge team is switiching to ford, it will leave only robby gordon (a start and park driver) as the only dodge driver now.

so what is the point of an official announcement when only one driver will be driving the car (for a few laps each week)

So the Dodge comeback only lasts 12 years. That's a shame. And I just bought a Dodge for myself a week and a half ago lol

Penske's progression in Cup since 1972: Matador, Mercury, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Ford, Dodge and now back to Ford.

I'm thinking Dodge won't be left hanging. Some team will jump over to them. Maybe Petty again? I'm sure the biggest team to go to Dodge will get a good deal.

On the other hand... Penske's leaving Dodge for a reason. Anyone remember when Joe Gibbs dumped Pontiac for Chevrolet after they just won the championship with Tony Stewart? Pontiac was done after the next year.

I say Noooooo because I like them as a Dodge team....but upon second thought I drool at the prospect of Brad having one of those FR9 engines under the hood.
Yes mam. Now your talking. Autoweek has another article sort of speculating on Dodge's Nascar future. Robby's is a Dodge team but does not get any sort of help from Dodge. Then they speculated about which major team might switch manufacturer. They say maybe Dodge could persuade Gibbs to leave Toyota or EGR to leave Chevy.

Dodge had been hurting for a while in the sport plus it doesn't surprise me since I believe the Ford camp really liked Allmendinger and would of liked to keep him in one. I think this could prove to be the next step that Penske needs to win a championship and contend year in and year out.

I don't understand your reasoning. So Toyota is worse because of Toyota and no other factors?
becuse nascar was built on form ford and chevy and dodge it was american sport before toyota come in to spint cup series now its like a world sport because of toyta

Oh, I understand now. It's one of those baseless, diluted arguments that's not worth my effort in contending. OK, as you were.
Oh come on this is always a good argument:
