Hello, I am currently collecting Racing Champions diecast 1/64 and I was wondering if there are any rare diecast from 1989 to 1994 that I may not know about. My favorite casting are the Buick and Oldsmobiles since they didn't make many off them. Any information or pictures helps.

Thank you!

I wish that there was a comprehensive listing or book containing the complete production history of Racing Champions, but there doesn't seem to be. I collect 1/24, so such a list would be very helpful to me too. Who would have such information if it exists at all, and how can we coax them to publish it?

@Dbracing do you have the 50th anniversary gold cars from 1998? Do those interest you? I have a bunch of them for sale in 1/64 scale. Let me know thanks.

Buicks
-#0 Dick McCabe
-#2 Ward Burton
-#7 Harry Gant
-#12 Hut Stricklin
-#12 Davey Allison
-#16 Stub Fadden
-#16 Larry Pearson
-#26 Brett Bodine
-#34 Todd Bodine
-#56 Jerry Glanville
-#08 Bobby Dotter
Assuming #12 is a typo for Bobby Allison, the only Buick missing off the top of my head is #5 Jay Fogleman.

Since you included #16 Larry Pearson, I'm also assuming that's the old 1989-1991 Buick casting since I don't think they made that in the newer 1992-1995 casting. And I'm assuming that means you're interested in the old castings as well. If so, then there were several others from 1990-1991 that existed as variations of other cars, but I don't know how many if any actually ran as Buicks vs just being weird variations Racing Champions produced.

Ya I have the old casting for Larry Pearson. I'm interested in collecting all of the Buick diecast.
In that case, old casting Buick variations also included:

#14 AJ Foyt as an old casting Buick variation of the Oldsmobile.
#16 Larry Pearson had 3 or 4 variations if you're into that.
#26 Kenny Bernstein which also had several variations, though he was the car owner not the driver. This came before the Brett Bodine version.
#26 Brett Bodine exists as both an old casting and new casting Buick, not sure which you have or both.
#33 Harry Gant as an old casting Buick variation of the Oldsmobile.
#42 Kyle Petty white/blue Peak car, but this is a very rare variation I've never seen only heard of.
#94 Sterling Marlin but this is another rare variation I've only heard of.

I can respond with Oldsmobiles later, but it'll take longer since there were many more of those if you're counting old castings.

Edit: oops, forgot this one:

#68 Bobby Hamilton as an old casting Buick variation of the Oldsmobile.

Also the problem you'll run into with the old castings that exist as rarer variations is that it's basically impossible to tell which ones are Buicks or Oldsmobiles from the side view which makes it hard to find them just by looking at pictures when people are selling them. And no one ever knows enough to say what model they are in their descriptions.

Thank you for the information. I will keep a look out on eBay for these diecasts.

For Buicks I also have the #5 Innkeeper car
For Oldsmobiles, there are several old 1989-1991 castings I don't see in your list. Several of these also have multiple variations, some as promos:

#1 Terry Labonte from before Rick Mast started driving this car.
#5 Jay Fogleman, supposedly an old casting variation of the promo car Buick, but I've only heard of it, not seen one.
#16 Larry Pearson variation of the Buick, one I've not seen only heard of.
#20 Rob Moroso.
#26 Kenny Bernstein, like the Buick, he's not the driver and was just on the card.
#26 Brett Bodine, exists as an old casting variation of the Buick.
#27 Rusty Wallace variation, another I've only heard of.
#31 Steve Grissom, I'm not sure which you have, but one of them is this old casting promo sponsored by Big Mama Meat Snacks. Back in the day it was one of the rarest and hardest to find promos. It's still pretty hard to find, but I may be able to help out of you're missing this one.
#42 Kyle Petty white/blue Peak car, like the Buick this is very rare and I've not seen one.

There are also several that exist as both the old casting Oldsmobile and the new casting Oldsmobile. These were all in your list, but I'm not sure if you only have 1 or the other, or both:

#1 Rick Mast
#33 Harry Gant, also the new casting version had multiple cards of you're interested in that.
#68 Bobby Hamilton
#72 Tracy Leslie, I'll go ahead and guess that you have the new casting for this one, because the old casting is really hard to find. I may know where one is though, so DM me if you're interested.
#94 Terry Labonte, also the new casting had variations with a blue bumper and a yellow bumper.
#96 Tom Peck

Then for the new casting Oldsmobiles:

#31 Steve Grissom Rodenberry's, not sure which you have.
#31 Steve Grissom Channellock, not sure which you have.
#44 Sterling Marlin Piedmont

Again thank you for the information. I am interested in the Big Mama Meats Steve Grissom diecast and maybe the Tracy Leslie diecast. I also seen a #8 Dick Trickle diecast if you have that I'm also interested.
