Redskins traded safety Adam Archuleta to the Bears in exchange for a conditional sixth-round draft pick.
Washington worked a new contract that will pay Archuleta $8.1 million over the next three years and guarantees him $5 million. Archuleta had a terrible 2006 in D.C. but Bears coach Lovie Smith will know how to best use his skills in the box and in coverage. He'll likely replace Todd Johnson as Chicago's third safety or could make Mike Brown expendable.
