I haven't been there since 2007 but sitting in the upper Commonwealth section wasn't a bad spot for me. You can see them whole track and have a great view of the cars going into turn 1. As far as hot or cold pass I am not sure. I had a cold pass but no one ever questioned me. It was great seeing qualifying behind pit wall.

Thinking about heading down to the spring Sprint Cup race. What's the best places to sit and any get hot or cold passes to the race? Thanks

Been there three times. With the layout, there aren't any bad seats. Great venue.
I heard they just eliminated a lot of the backstretch seating, I'm sure that factors in to the decision.
