I'm very anxious to see how well Carl does with this low downforce package. Based on how well they did last year they could be competing for the win this weekend.

I'm interested to see how this package works out too. I'm not "excited" though. I'll have to wait and see how it does for the next few weeks before I decide if I like it or not.

And here's something crazy (to me) that I just realized. This is the first race I'll watch that doesn't have a driver who was active when I started watching the sport.

Wow. 39 cars...what a time to be alive. Hard to imagine a 40th wont show up late seeing as its a free spot in a freaking Cup race.

Same here. All the drivers who are entered, started racing in the series after 1997.

I was just thinking the same thing last week. Bobby Labonte is the last (active) driver to race against Richard Petty.

They probably realized they'd just be losing money without having a charter and it's not worth it to show up and run 35th-40th anymore.

Woho finally made it to the hotel. We left new Orleans at midnight last night and drove straight here...7 hours on the road. We went to downtown as soon as we got here, and it was great.
