I was watching QVC tonight, and I believe I've seen it all. They of course had the usual CRAP, Platinum, and Gold plated cars, and the cheap imitation the chrome cars, which are probably the same as the White Gold, and the Platinum. How would you know?
Now they are doing a Gold Chrome and a Sterling Silver car, so how do you know if the Gold Plated or Platinum and White Gold cars are real? I'll bet that's it. They are either chrome or gold chrome and then they sell them as Platinum, White Gold, Yellow Gold and Sterling Silver. What will they think of next? I can hardly stand it anymore! They can do all of these stupid finishes and everbody sucks them up, but they can't make a car for every driver. God I wish another die-cast company would do the sport justice.

Its all about money unfortunatly. Like many have said before, why make a Stephen Leicht First Win or a Scott Wimmer MLB that will be sitting at the tents outside of the track for 10 bucks the next 5 or 6 years when you can make a Denny Hamlin and Dale Jr "gold platinum" that will sell for a ton of money.

My wife and I were channel surfing and we saw the Dale Jr. gold chrome auto-delivery cars, and she asked if I wanted them. I told her no, that I was happy with the standard (and the occaisional white golds when (or rather if...) I could get them. As it is, I usually get the standard and the elite versions of the cars, and maybe the colorchrome because I like the shiny finish because it looks like an "under the lights" version. Other than that, I stopped when they came out with the copper, mesma chrome, silver, gold, and banana finished because enough is enough!!!!!

I don't even like the gold, chrome or whatever crap they come out with. I want the actual car that was raced. To me, these are just MORE fantasy cars. Give me more Busch drivers, up-and-comers, Trucks, other Cup drivers and schemes instead of this garbage.

Here we go folks, Gold car #? Ah who cares is in the lead. Chrome gold #? I cant read the number when they are going that fast is in second, The platinum is in third, No wait that is the white gold in second and the chrome gold in third , but wait who is driving the sterling silver? Here they come down the back shoot, It's color chrome in front of Santa Clause and look he has come from the back of the pack to make it up to the top ten, yes we have 24 Kt gold and just in front of them it's multi plasmatice copper. Boys it's going to be a good Race if the Big red #42 doesn't take out the whole field in turn two with all that sun light bounce of those front runners. Yep it's down to the final lap and #42 hits the chrome bounces of the wall and collects sterlin and white. Platinum and mesma get tangled up and collect copper and and Santa clause wins the MA 500. For our race winner this year we are proud to announce that we will be Canceling our big red #42 so that we can make our Raced win version of our Regular paint scheme mesmaticchromaliscousgoldarama piece of Crap Snata Clause comes to town car.
And now we take you back to our regular scheduled programming!!!!

Sad, but True.

In your guys' opinions besides the big four (8, 20, 24, 48), do people buy other drivers alternative finshed cars? Personally I only have two other alternative finishes: Kevin's 2001 and 2006 Busch cars and I only bought those to commerate his busch series championships. This year I've been watching ebay I notice alot of Harvick white golds selling for less than what the seller paid for them. I would imagine that the secondary market dictates what the primary market does. Do you think MA will wise up after this year and quit producing so many alternative finishes? Oh well, it must be nice to have a monopoly.

I agree, I have nothing against an occaisonal color chrome. Right, they do look like they are under the lights, but all of these precious metal cars, and then fakes that look just like the PM cars, makes you wonder if the PM cars are really what they say they are. I would rather they just made everybody's cars, even if only 100 of em'. Enough of the alternate crap!

I don't get it either. To me when I buy cars I want the real scheme. The real schemes are not gold/platinum or any other metal. To me the alternative metal versions are nothing more than a fantasy car. Sure it's the basic paint scheme but is it really? I own 1 colorchrome and that's the Johnson Chevy 400 Wins car I got off GoMotorBids a while back for like 25 bucks. It's a really sharp looking car but it's not something I would spend $100 on. Metal cars may get their value in dollars but to true collectors they are nothing more than a fantasy car!

Of any of the so called fantasy/PM cars I would say the the liquid color/color chromes are by far the highest on the list of what is more acceptable to me. I have about six or seven of those. They usually have some significant meaning. Or at least most of the ones I have do. Championships, A winning race, or I will have it in both the regular and colorchrome to see the difference and of those, most I have picked up really cheap so they aren't to bad looking along side the others regular/standard paint schemes when you know they are rarer and special and that you got them for a deal you just couldn't pass up. I too have three white golds, & Two chromes. For what was spent on one, I would have rather had eight regular paint schemes far more instead. The rest I could take or leave. I would swap them all for (Except the 2007 Shell white gold! I paid $205 for that car! Which is the one I would rather have the eight regular paint schemes instead) the equal # of customs I needed right now. Just to have the true paint schemes.
Funny thing about all this, I got my promo Brad Coleman car in this week. This is something that just throws a big ? in the air of how does MA determine what gets produced and what doesn't. Brads car says limited edition, No determined amount produced. It is a ARC/RCCA style car, Hood only open, plastic chassis Etc.. How can they produce his car and not produce say Harvick Reeses COT or Gordon 2007 Performanve alliance, Or ????? Ya'll know what I'm talking about. I can't make the first bit of since out of it? Why cancel, if you can produce a car of Brad Colemans and sell it? I know there aren't that many fans out there of him!! Got to be more Blaney, Wimmer, K. Wallace fans then Coleman!!!! Then produce all this other crap. Oh well, joker warned ya'll!! Got me started again............
