Parker Kligerman set the pace in Thursday’s final Happy Hour round of practice for the NextEra Energy Resources 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway.

The race, the kickoff event to the 2012 Truck Series series, will be televised live on SPEED at 7 p.m. ET on Friday.

Kligerman’s best lap in the Brad Keselowski-owned Cooper Standard Ram was 192.872 miles per hour, which put him just ahead of his boss. Keselowski himself piloted a second Ram to a lap of 192.868 mph, second fast in the field.

Behind the Keselowski trucks were a trio of entries from Turner Motorsports. Nelson Piquet Jr. ran 191.767 mph in his Chevrolet, while teammates Miguel Paludo (191.559 mph) and James Buescher (191.546 mph) followed close behind.

Sixth through 10th were Johnny Sauter, David Starr, Paul Harraka, Chris Fontaine and Jake Crum.

Truck Series qualifying will be televised on SPEED Friday at 4 p.m.

Friday night’s race is the first of 22 on the 2012 Truck Series schedule.
