Cameron Waters has been confirmed as the driver of the #6 Prodrive Racing Australia Falcon for the 2016 V8 Supercars season, with backing from Monster Energy.

The Waters/Monster deal has been widely rumoured since the Bathurst 12 Hour, with the team adding to the speculation when Waters drove the #6, dressed in black and green, at the Winton test last week.
The 21-year-old graduates to the main championship after winning the Dunlop Series with PRA last year, and effectively replaces David Reynolds in the four-driver line-up.
“It is really cool to confirm my plans for this season and to have Monster Energy come on board is amazing, I am really honoured such a big global supporter of motorsport is joining the team,” Waters said.
“They are a super-cool brand and the opportunities we are going to have this year are pretty awesome. We’re going to have some fun and I look forward to meeting other Monster Energy athletes from around the world.
“I am also proud to be driving the #6 alongside Frosty [Mark Winterbottom]. He has a wealth of experience and as a Bathurst winner and champion of our sport I am keen to work closely with him to assist my development.
“The last few years have all been working to getting to this position and while I am eager to start running at the front, I know it will take time to build into a rhythm. Our series has some of the world’s best touring car drivers and I am looking forward to the challenge of mixing it with them.”
The Waters announcement officially confirms the full V8 Supercars grid for 2016.
The season kicks off on Saturday on the streets of Adelaide.
