What is the deal on this Gordon car?

What is the deal on this Gordon car? I am assuming it is a fantasy car celebrating his number of starts........is it hard to find, and is it in decent demand? May be looking for one. Not a big Fantasy Car guy, but I like it for some reason, and I do not have a DTEH car so would fill a slot....

It was ran at New Hampshire last year. They originally said they weren't going to offer the Ride With Jeff car, I don't remember if it was because the names were too small to read or what. But the eventually came around and said the only way the team would allow it to be produced was if it had the 789 on the roof.

So its not a total fantasy car like his 2012 Dupont, but still has fantasy elements.

That's very bizarre. That's up there with the Kellogg's cars being on bases as one of the stranger things I've heard of.

He did race this car, albeit it had the #24 on the roof. This is the annual "Ride with Jeff" paint scheme where fans could donate money to have their name on the car. AARP just chose the consecutive start milestone to coincide with the promotion last year. But for some reason Lionel thought it would be better off with a big 789 on the roof.

Yes, this was an interesting release. For the longest time they have the #24 on the roof on the Lionel site. Then this came out. Not a overly big fan of it(would rather have the on track car). It works for completing the collection though. I also noticed there was NO Jeff Gordon Foundation car released for his last year either. That was a little odd. Figured they would have tapped us Gordon fans the last year for as much as possible! Good car to have, looks sharp in the case!
Nothing to add here information wise as the previous posts have summed it up. I wish it would've just had the 24 instead of the 789 on the roof, but had to get the 1/24 since my name is on the hood. Even if it does take a magnifying glass to see it.......

This car was made to celebrate his 789th consecutive start, which broke the previous 788 record that Ricky Rudd had. The names on the hood represent over 600 people that paid for the "Ride With Jeff" promotion.

The only fantasy part of the car is the 789 on the roof.
