What's a Custom without something to put it in?

These are customs, sort of.....

I managed to get my hand on some pine scrap from work that was in really good shape. I tossed around a couple of ideas about what I could build with some 1 x 8's about 8 feet long.

Lo and behold, SB99 and I thought it would be nice to make a display that would look good to sort of "surround" our entertainment center and add to the flanking 10-Car cases on our LCD (Not only to address the ever shrinking areas of display). The design I came up with was, the Track Case.

I've been working on this for a couple of months in between other projects. I made a pair that's enclosed and each is about 54" long with a 10-degree shelf.

:-D :-D They are gonna look even better when we paint "Lowes Motor Speedway" on the track walls. :-D :-D
Looks nice, I've tried that before with cloth, which obviously didn't work to well..Is that sandpaper as the track?
that is very awsome SB12.

Actually, it is a textured paint. You can find it at Home Depot or Lowes in the spray paint aisle in many colors, it looks just like asphalt when it dries.

very smart idea. Looks really sharp!
AWESOME IDEA SB12!!!
Would you be interested in selling a couple or making a couple? I also would like something along that line for the Earnhardt Sr. Legacy train set I have. The same deal, only smaller and longer. LMK and that is great!
Those are awesome. I love putting together stuff like that, makes an everyday set of cars just jump out at you.
Adds a certain style and class to everything in my opinion.

If you are interested, send me a PM with your ideas. Cost will be time, materials and shipping. I can do the full construction or assemble a kit for you to finish it yourself. All my stuff is designed using SolidWorks with Ready to assemble instructions.
